I know, I've promised this recipe years ago and just never got around to posting on the blog. But it's finally here!


Turmeric has a slew of benefits, it contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, helps prevent cancer and ease arthritis. I have several recipes for Turmeric drinks but today I'll give you a quick and easy recipe for a most delicious Turmeric latte.



Ingredients


(

1 (serving)


1 tbsp Organic Turmeric Powder

1 1/2 Cups Almond or coconut milk

3 tbsp Agave Syrup or Coconut Sugar

1 pinch Cinnamon

1 pinch Nutmeg

1/4 tsp grated or powder Ginger (Optional)


Directions


On low heat add Almond Milk to small pot. Add Turmeric Powder, Agave Syrup and grated or powdered ginger (optional). Let boil (froth) pour in cup then add a pinch of nutmeg & or cinnamon.

Happy December Folks! Who wants to forgo the turkey this season and make a delicious nut loaf? Last year around this time I held a vegan cooking class and we created this delicious nut loaf. I haven't had a chance to share it with you all until now. Please do try!





Ingredients


1 Tbsp Lentils (cooked)

1 cup TVP (Texturized Vegetarian Protein {soy flakes} )

½ cup Walnuts

1 finely chopped Carrot

½ cup Bread Crumbs (sprouted bread)

2 tbsp Chick Pea Flavour

2 tsp Himalayan salt

1 chopped Onion

4oz Mushrooms (optional)

½ tbsp Organic Soy Sauce

½ tsp Turmeric (for colour)

½ cup Ground Flax Seed

1 cup Water

1 tbsp Olive Oil


METHOD:


COOK Lentils put aside

MIX ½ cup flax seed with 1 cup water and let sit to thicken.

COMBINE In large bowl all ingredients by kneading

DRIZZLE olive oil over pan and press loaf into pan

BAKE at 400F for 30 min

This soup is sooo good I just have to share it with you.  Did you know that Cauliflower contains antioxidants and Phytonutrients* that can protect your body against many illnesses including cancer? It’s also great for your digestive tract and contains that much needed fiber.



Here’s the recipe:

1/2 Chopped Cauliflower 1/2 Garlic 1White potato 1/2 Onion 1Tsp Rosemary 1Tsp Seasoning Salt 1Tbsp Coconut oil or vegan butter 1Tsp Pink Himalayan Sea Salt 1Tsp Cayene pepper 1Tsp Oregano 1Cup Almond  or Coconut milk


Directions


1. Peel and cut potato in 4 -6 pieces then add to pot of boiling water.  Add almond or coconut milk to pot and coconut oil or vegan butter.  Add all seasoning & spices. Let boil until potato is soft. 2. Add chopped cauliflower and Garlic to roasting pan drizzle olive oil and sprinkle sea salt place in oven at 350F for 15-20 min. 3. Add roasted cauliflower and peeled garlic to blender then add potato etc. to blender.  Blend then serve, Garnish with your choice of seasonings.
